Fischer Quint Collectibles
The Fischer Quints were born September 14, 1963.  They were the fourth set of quintuplets in the world to survive and the first American quints to survive infancy. The four girls were named Mary Margaret, Mary Anne, Mary Magdalene, and Mary Catherine.  The boy was named James Andrew.   The quints have four older sisters and a brother and one younger sister.

Aberdeen, South Dakota, hometown of the quints, celebrated the birth of the quints with a parade a month after they were born.  Some souvenir collectibles were made for the event, including Quint Pins made by a Brownie troop.  A souvenir coin was issued for the event. The town also erected a sign proclaiming "Aberdeen, Home of the Fischer Quints."

The family signed contracts with Curtis Publishing Company for story and picture  rights. Articles were printed in the Saturday Evening Post and the Ladies Home Journal from 1963-1968.  Brown and Bigelow, the same company who produced the Dionne Quintuplet calendars, negotiated a contract with the family.  The calendars were produced from 1964-1971.

Madame Alexander approached the family to make quint dolls like the Dionnes she produced. The family refused, so she produced a set called "Original Quintuplets" made in 1963 only.  Extra clothing was available for these dolls.  Other American and foreign companies produced sets of quintuplet dolls in different sizes.  Most were dressed in the four girls in pink and one boy in blue theme.  A set of Quintuplet paper dolls by Saalfield  was of 5 blue eyed, blonde babies, again, 4 girls and one boy.
